I happened onto this one in Colorado a couple of years ago, and for some reason I've been overlooking it in the stash ever since (maybe it's that awful cover art). If my memory serves me right, a clerk at Harvest Wine & Spirits in Boulder recommend it. Anyhoo, time to give it a shot.
Pours a dark, shiny brown with a finger of dark tan froth. Milk chocolate, black grape, tannin, gum and vanilla to the nose. Tastes of sweet bread, graham cracker, more milk chocolate and ripened black grape. A spoonful of vanilla is soon dropped in. Eventually notes of oak and pine come out to play. Medium to heavy, smooth through and through, and nice and hot at the finish.
An obscure and wonderful RIS that hits all the right notes (except for maybe the packaging). Someone should resurrect this bad boy.

This sucker pours oily black with absolutely zero head. I was worried I got a bad bottle, but that's just the beer. Sweet, malty smooth aroma, even without foam. Silky smooth mouthfeel yet incredibly full-bodied. Taste is boozy but not overly so, with a wonderful roastiness on the finish. Really good beer.

This is a special brew made by a home brewer from the KROC (Keg Ran Out Club)....part of the Home Brewers Gone Wild series.
Pours black with small head.
Aroma of dark roasted malt, vanilla, sweet malts.
Modest carbonation and significant mouthfeel.
Flavors of sweet malts, powder sugar, tropical fruit rind, lactose, coffee. Overall very tasty and smooth.
