Fermented and aged in American oak barrels for 18-24 months, our Flanders style red ale is a deep and complex brew. Notes of ripe cherries and tart blackberries mingle with hints of caramel, oak, and red grape. We’ve conditioned this variation on a wonderful light roast from our friends at One Line Coffee. Their Colombia Monteblanco complements the beer with flavors of tea rose, strawberry, pomegranate, and raw sugar.

750 ml bottle, packaged on JAN/19/2021. Served in a Wolf's Ridge chalice, the beer pours a reddish/brown color with about a couple inch off-white head that stayed around for a while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like cherries, blackberries, coffee, oak, red grape/wine and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some strawberry, vanilla, citrus and earthiness. Coffee is noticeable but doesn't overpower the other flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit coating with a good amount of soft carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good sour ale, the coffee was a nice addition to it. I liked the regular Red Legacy a lot, and I think this version is good too! Worth trying if you come across some. $20.99 a bottle.
