Appearance: Pours an espresso color with a small bubble show building a one finger ecru head; decent retention and spots of lacing
Smell: Charred espresso and chcocolate tones; just a hint of sweetness
Taste: Char and chocolate forward with some lactose building; bitter and fruity espresso emerges, after the swallow; nicely blended intothe finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: For a relatively low ABV stout, this packs a lot of flavor and avoids the sweetness of many milk stouts
Thanks, Chilmer, for the opportunity

12oz can. No dating information found, but label lists this as a 'LIMITED RELEASE' beer.
Looks to be clear, ruby brown colored body. Brief thin tan head. No lacing.
Aroma is big with the coffee, followed by chocolate. Creamy oats smell.
Taste is espresso coffee led and finished, along with chocolate and cream. Moderately sweet, along with the espresso bitterness. As noted, more bitter coffee in the aftertaste.
Creamy and more than medium mouth feel. Slight tongue numbness. Supportive carbonation.
The coffee dominates but the beer is brewed to allow a sweet expression of chocolate also. Kind of a weird body color for a stout.

I tried this beer at Dixie's in Decorah, Iowa as part of a four sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had bold vanilla and cocoa notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with vanilla, cocoa and caramel creme presence. The mouthefeel was medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Had on tap. Yeah... this hits the spot. Classic appearance, smell, taste and feel, but all done well. Creamy black waves of espresso, milk chocolate, vanilla, and little hints of creme brulee in smell and taste. Smell is more coffee forward, taste more balanced. Stupid smooth, creamy, and easy drinking, but thins a touch when warmer

12 oz can, canned on 1/10/19. Malfunctioning lid didn't want to pop and instead came out the sides. Poured into boiler snifter.
Pours a dark shiny black color, with a beige-brown head of 2 fingers, receding to about 1/2 finger leaving delicate skirts of lacing behind.
Strong espresso notes on the nose, with supplemental chocolate notes and lactose, but never peppery or overly tannic. Faint caramel creme notes.
Flavor brings a wonderful balance of coffee and chocolate, at almost heavenly amounts, bringing touches of coconut and lactose. Lingering mild fruitiness and acidity with cocoa notes.
Feel is perfect for a coffee stout - just enough body, not too thick, great carbonation with a lively feeling, slick and smooth, and mild roasted dryness on the finish.
Overall, this is probably the best stout in Iowa besides the obvious TG offerings. Looked pretty limited, I hope I can find more.

Dark body with a tan head, deep chocolate taste with a tan bite at the end. Heavy start with a light finish. Enough complexity in flavor without being too over bearing.
