Gable. One word can say so much. In our city, few words, if any, resonate with the force Gable does. In commemoration of his Olympic triumph (Munich - 1972) we’ve crafted a beer much more approachable than adversaries found Dan to be on the mat. Clean, crisp and GOLD. We can’t think of a more fitting tribute.

On tap at the brewery; served from a side-pull faucet into a snulip glass. Clear golden-colored pour, with a thick white head. Good retention. Light malt-forward aromas and flavors, with a herbal and slightly spicy hop note. Nice bitterness on the palate that lasts from start to finish. Crisp, clean, and a great food beer.

01/11/23 on bottom of can. Poured into a tapered glass mug.
A: Hazy gold with 1-finger white, frothy head with decent retention and spotty lacing.
S: Strong sulfur, hot dog nose off the bat that reduces to a burnt match note that lingers throughout the nose. Finally recedes to a bready slight honey pils malt note and lemony, honeysuckle hop note.
T: Flavor is more malt than hops (as it should be) with sweetbread malt character and a lemongrass, herbal hop quality that is especially notable in the finish. Lightly bitter and clean with no yeast notes.
M: Easy drinking with light body and moderate carbonation and medium-dry finish.
O: Excellent job by SingleSpeed on this bready-malty pale German lager.

Poured a light head, not very golden at all. Was very clear but pretty unfortunate look, head dissipated quickly.
Smell was great, could get nice aromas of malt and just very fresh.
Taste was smooth, def how a Helles is supposed to taste, would have loved a little more, but could easily drink.
Light carbonation compared to another Helles I had from Iowa the day before. Didn’t mind it and thought it blended nicely.
Look the real killer here. Easily drinkable.

This might very well be the greatest of all American Helles - and that comes from a German.

6-pack of cans from John’s. Easy drinker, has that somewhat pilsnery flavor.
