The first in a series we've titled "The Wonder Beers." Karen is a free-spirited American Blonde, who rebels against conservative guidance, pursuing a more adventurous, fruit-forward hop experience. She also lives in a bit of a haze, thanks to a friendly, Vermont based DIPA yeast strain. Karen intrigues just enough, but keeps the plot hidden.

On tap at the brewery, served in a pub pint glass. Very hazy translucent yellow, with a thin white head (probably due to a tentative tap draw). I'd guess this is quite aggressively hopped, as it drinks more like a pale than a blonde. Big aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, pine, and orange zest. Nicely balanced, with a solid but unobtrusive malt backbone. Pleasant, long-lasting bitterness that belies the brewer's claim of 30 IBU. Crisp and dry finish, with a resiny bitterness that hangs around on the palate for a long time. An outside-the-box beer that is delicious and drinkable. Very well done!
