The Haze Craze. It started small, with a single brewery. Soon it covered a state, followed by a region and eventually an entire country. What's next? Our contribution to the madness, Whirled Wide Haze. Fruit-focused hops layer juicy, tropical notes atop a soft, pillowy base. Built to be enjoyed, then enjoyed again.

Look: white bubbly head, straw, hazy, little lacing was scattered
Smell: black tea, citrus, earthy
Taste: black tea, citrus rind, melon
Feel: med light body, moderate carbo, soft
Overall: 6.3% abv 35 IBU. Very tea like and herbal. Citrus rind and melon notes were nice. OK brew. A pairing with Until it Sleeps by Metallica got me thru.

On tap at The Other Place - University Avenue, Cedar Falls, IA; served in a shaker pint glass. Pours a hazy pale yellow, with a pillowy snow-white head that left some beautiful lacing. Big aromas and flavors of tropical fruit and citrus, with notes of zesty bitterness and umami. Clean and crisp finish, quite "juicy" on the palate. I'm off the reservation yet again, but this is another fine offering from one of my favorite breweries.

Yum ! NEIPA from Toppling Goliath are still the reference for me but I must say this one is quite good. It gets pretty close. The body is just a bit light to be perfect. Nice light color, good head, a little tangy. Just missing the floating bits :P Nice that the ABV is reasonable, I can enjoy more than one !

6-pack of cans from John’s poured into tulip. Solid NEIPA.

Looks AMAZING. Perfect light amber color, perfect white pillowy head with good retention, great chill haze, but this is supposed to be NEIPA, so a bit more cloudiness would be perfect. Smell is quite restrained, almost lager like in its cleanness. (Original review from ‘21: Some hop aroma is there, but really not that much.) EDIT: aroma in 2022 is much more fruity and tropical, very typical of style. Flavor is clean malt, pleasant fruity/floral hops, some bite in the finish. Mouthfeel is full and sweet (was dry in ‘21) and moderately bitter. Overall quite nice, not exceptional, but one I can well enjoy a couple of outdoors as the season warms.
