A barrel aged wild ale with local Lavender. Strong floral/spice complimented by a tart lemony barrel aged sour base. Lotsa Lavender... Very similar to lavender lemonade.

750ml bottle bought in 2016, drank January, 2021. Drank out of a Hill Farmstead wine glass.
Poured with almost no head at all but had a nice gold color. Smell was acidic and the taste was the same. Overly acidic and sour - way too much for me. Mouthfeel was normal.
Not sure if it was intended to be like this and in my experience, Plan Bee beers can go over the top on the acidity, but this one was over the top. Had to drain pour the last half glass. Just couldn’t drink it. Based on that, I should have rated it a 1 or 2, but given the other ratings and my overall affection and respect for Plan Bee, I’m going to assume that something was off with my bottle or went off during the storage process (which was fine). That was also the case with an Amour from the same time period when they were ramping up, so it wouldn’t surprise me if maybe it was infected (the Amour had lost all its carbonation despite the wax seal being intact - didn’t bother rating that one). Maybe they’ll make it again and I’ll revisit. Cheers!

Yeah this is good. Lavender is a great addition to this sour series.

Plan Bee is a model of consistency. All of the wild ales I have had that were bottled in 2016 have been excellent. I liked this version of Bouquet a bit better than the elderflower version. I'm looking forward to trying the others.

It's beers like this that make the Hive program great because I don't think I would've picked this off of a store shelf in 1000 years. Luckily this one got dropped into my lap and I enjoyed every second. Lavender meets lemons and it works perfectly. Definitely up there on the sour scale, right on the cusp of puckering with just touch of funky oak.
Seriously seriously good, fuck.
