A: Purple with a pink head. Nice effervescence.
S: Currants, a little hay, and a touch of honey.
T: Big black currant flavor. Some lemon zest, wet grass, some honey sweetness and a dry oak at the end.
F: A nice amount of carbonation to give it almost a soft feel.
O: This one is great, it's exactly what I've come to expect and love about Plan Bee.

2016 bottle, drank October, 2024. Beautiful current bouquet sprouted all over when I opened it. Typical with other Plan Bee beers - clean look with limited head, on the acidic side, and really nice. Good beer overall and aged really well!

black currant wild beer, another stunner from plan bee, thanks to my brother for the share, this really is an awesome bottle, and these guys just keep on impressing. this is funky and tart but not too sour, lots of wood character to it, very vinous with that and the tannins and medicinal astringency of the currants, which are natural and obvious in here, even with subtle raspberry and sour cherry twang to this as well. soft pinkish orange color to it from the bottle, looks a little thin and not holding much head, but the beer is carbonated enough on the palate and the body has a little something to it from grain. decent acidity here, but very clean in that regard, some citric character to it, and with the currants exacerbating the sourness in the fermentation profile. i get some interesting nuance here, wine grapes, blackberry vine and cane, new oak, under ripe strawberry, its awesome. the currant is authentic and seasonal and delicious in here, the base wild ale is as good as they always are from these guys, and overall i was stoked to be able to dip into this, these guys always get me excited. if i lived back east where these were available i would have a hard time not spending all my money on them, the get me every time!

A great sour that cut through the heaviness of the night’a lineup with ease.

Currants always seemingly result in beautiful deep pink pours and an awesome settling hue.

Tart, sour, nose, characterized by an abundance of those bitter currants. Ocean spray nose.

Fruity cranberry and raspberry flavors; good compliment of sour and sweet. Very drinkable, with a low acidity.

High seltzery carb, light body crisp. Very refreshing, beautiful mouthfeel for the style.
