Well balanced wild ale with organic rainbow carrots and ginger from Poughkeepsie Farm Project, juicy sweet hint of carrot juice with a little zing of ginger on the finish, hello Spring!

Bottle into Pint
Look: lightly Hazy pale yellow color Pouring a thin cap for a head which dissipated into a ring with lacing
Smell: Lemon , light ginger note, apple. Some yeast in there too
Taste: Lightly tart lemon and apple, with a tinge of ginger bite in the background. Some sort of ground vegetable starchiness in there too. Finish fades to a lightly musty lemon with a touch of malt.
Feel: Light-med body with moderate carbonation. Smooth finish.
Overall: Very interesting brew that ended up being very pleasant.

This one pours a fairly hazy light yellow color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like earthy sweeetness, spicy oak and funk, pear, apple, and white wine.

The carrots are definitely there, but subtle- as carrot doesn't have a strong or super easily definable character. The ginger adds a light spiciness, and is luckily not overdone. Ginger in beer can sometimes be a disaster, but this is done well. That crazy weird Plan Bee funk is very present here, with lots of citrus, some pear and whatnot, with lots of white wine and a touch of oak.

This is light bodied, with a lingering acidity, and a good level of drinkability.

With all of these bizarre Plan Bees, I always assume they're not going to work. They nearly always do.

A- Clear golden brew from a 750ml to a tasting glass. A small foamy head briefly forms but no lace or head is left after seconds.

S- Ginger is certainly the mainstay of the aroma. Plenty of fresh ginger leading into tartness, sour apples, acetic acid, carrot juice, lemon and sour candy.

T- Ginger once again in the forefront and the star of the show. The carrots are somewhat subtle but you can sense a vegetal flavor along with the ginger spiciness and apples, pears, lactic acid, acetic acid and lemon. Ginger and sour is the theme. Carrot juice comes to mind as it warms and opens up.

MF- Light-medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick sour finish. Texture is foamy and overall it is a pucker brew.

Ginger and carrots are great in a juice and here in a beer. Sour funk and spice, get those Plan Bee bugs.
