Slightly foggy amber-gold with a short white head settling to a fine bubbly ring.
There's a touch of dill pickle brine amidst the nutty blue cheese funk as the soft, medium-light body is accented by notes of lemon and a light woodiness.
I might be getting a touch of the red wine barrel, but the potatoes don't seem to contribute much, flavor-wise.

a bizarre beer, brewed with potatoes, something i have rarely ever seen, and aged in red wine barrels, a total pleasure to try, i owe a big thanks to my brother for sourcing this, it was one of my favorite of the plan bee beers we had together. i love when a beer uses a weird ingredient well, and this one certainly does. it smells like the starchy water after lazily washed potatoes are boiled, like some of the soil and minerals in there too, very earthy and grounded, especially with all the oak on it, easily the woodiest of the plan bee ones we shared. the potato is there in the flavor too, simple and starchy, fitting in remarkably well with the wheat in the mash, like it makes perfect sense but nobody ever thought of it until now. it really does taste like potato, but in the right proportion where it also still tastes like beer, their house funk in full display, nice citrusy tartness here too, and a ton of oak and wine to it. the fruitiness of the red wine is great, raspberry and plum notes in here, a strong tannic presence as well, and trace vanilla as it fades out with the farmy brett. enormously complex and intriguing, a totally one of a kind beer, make no mistake about that. shockingly lively in the glass, active and vibrant, but with some nice body from the wheat and likely the potato too. i hope to drink this one again in my life, it really was a cool experience. these guys are killing it!
