An Estate Rye Beer - Every ingredient in this bottle was grown on our humble farm in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dank Rye comprises 100% of the grist and was harvested with the help of a 1947 Allis-Chalmers antique combine. Our cascade hops were hand-picked and added to the coolship directly from the bine. The water is from our 603 ft well. The mixed culture from our beehives. This Beer is Plan Bee.

Pours cloudy orange color with a small head that faded quickly and left basically zero lacing. Smells of wheat, yeast, barnyard funk, musty grapes, coriander, peppery spices, a dirty horse blanket and light fruity notes. Tastes like it smells with additional notes of caramel, sweet malt, biscuit, hay, fresh cut grass and earthy notes. Smooth drinking with a crisp feel, this went down easy.

L: An almost opaque nectarine/apricot color with no head to speak of, but there is a foamy ring.
S: apricots, hay, stable, pear, lemon/lime zest
T: apricots, peaches, mango, straw, hay, barnyard, honey, bitter orange & lemon & grapefruit, pinot grigio, clover, with a peppery finish that sweetens as it warms.
F: smooth and slightly slick across the tongue, a full swallow with a lemony tart aftertaste
O: an excellent beer, an abundance of fruit flavors on top of a sour/sweet funk. Well balanced and delicious, more complex and better developed than the 4% ABV would lead you to believe.
