a sexy and delicate little table saison here, courtesy of my brothers generous sharing, i cannot get enough plan bee right now, and this was a heck of a palate wakeup before some delicious pizza, these guys are on one! i love the high effort low alcohol beers, and this is that to the max, local coriander, all new york state ingredients, neat dry hopping, time in oak, wild yeasts, all of it! this is blonde and clearish through most of the bottle until we rouse a little sediment at the bottom, holds an airy white head over an inch high, and is very well carbonated, fizzing and popping the whole drink. the nose is unique, lemony and just tart, with an herbal freshness but also a slightly toasted element from the coriander, well dosed but not dominant, neat to have this element in the absence of its usual partners citrus peel and belgian yeast, this shows how dynamic it can be on its own, and i taste what i smell from it, really pleasant. familiar funk from these guys, not acidic hardly at all, just enough wood to add some depth in the absence of a bigger grain bill, earthy and dry and intriguing, more spring than fall to me with the floral notes. the flavor too is reserved and rewards slow and intentional drinking, even if the overall spirit of this thing makes me want to pound on it, i try to slow and savor. love the light citrusy tang this has, the bretty funk and the oak, and the light body but without it feeling thin or like anything is missing, this is so vibrant and lively too, and its refreshing and intriguing at the same time. cool hop profile on it, delicate as it is, paradigm hops, cool! loved this, love plan bee, love cutting into ales with my brother!
