Clear orange-amber brew with plenty of foam in the pint shaker. Aroma seems somehow lacking for all the hops. Faint malty taste and vast hoppy bitterness. Pretty much an overdose of Mosaic, a hop that deserves a little breathing room, some restraint to show its virtues better. This is just hop soup with a very bitter aftertaste. On tap at Black Bottle in Seattle. From notes March 17, 2017.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Poured from a growler. Pours a hazy, medium orange amber with a half finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of mild bready malt with a hint of caramel, citrus hops, tropical fruit, orange citrus, nice. Flavor is lightly caramel malt, tropical and mixed citrus juice, citrus and lightly piney hops. Understated bitterness at first, but then develops robust, but flavorful resinous hop bitterness with lingering piney and mixed fruit flavors. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A very nicely made, fruity IPA. I'm liking the look and flavor of unfiltered IPAs more and more and this is no exception. The fruit and herbal hops flavors start somewhat muted, but this finishes with a surprising hoppy finish that retains the nice hop flavors from the start. The malt is somewhat neutral, but quite supportive. Mosaic has not been one of my favorite hops, but this one presents it very nicely and is changing my mind. Well done single hop. I like it a lot. Good introduction to this small brewery.
