Pours an opaque dark brown color with khaki colored head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, bread, earthiness, and some leather on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with chocolate and roast.

Picked up a couple bombers of this beautiful brew this week (Dec 2016) - it's hardly retired (Don't know where people got the idea that it was!) Aroma is slightly boozy - but this is an exceptionally smooth stout. Love the coffee/chocolaty notes that accompany a slight bitterness. Mouth feel is just right - medium body and a moderate amber colored head with nice lacing left behind on the 24 oz mug I used for this beauty. Outstanding stout from a relatively small brewery in rural Iowa.

Aroma is dark malts, coffee, spices/vegetables and a hint of curry. The flavor is dark malts, spices/vegetables, dark fruit and a mix of acidity and hints of coffee and heat in the finish.
