2011: 500 ml bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 5.1%. Amber to copper colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of fruity and dusty hops, a hint of caramel. Refreshing and pleasant flavour, hints of toffee, nuts and berries, nicely balanced between the malts and hops. Nothing exceptional, but drinks well.

L- Deep amber with an orange hue to it, clear, pours with a 15mm pillowy off-white head.
S- Very trad, bright roast grains.
T- Lovely, roast malts and a bright/trad hoppy finish.
F- Lives up to it's 'Bitter' style, versatile beer year-around. Carbonation in the mouth is huge.
O- Lovely. Nothing out of place, out of balance or unwelcome here. Nice to enjoy a trad Bitter that hasn't been messed with in any way. If this on draft at my local pub I'd very happily make it one of my 'usuals'.
500ml bottle BB: 01/2022
I read the lable only after writing/scoring the above^, and now see this beer is a major winner of prestigious international awards - I'm not surprised!

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2013, so it's just out of date. Acquired a little while back from a B&M store. A winner of the National Brewing Competition (whatever that is).
Poured into a straight pint glass. A deep amber colour with good, even carbonation. Forms a smallish head of white foam that lasts for a minute or so before disappearing. Aroma of caramel malt with hints of floral hops, mild pine, grain, fruity ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Subtle but quite nice.
Tastes of caramel malt with a hoppy bitter finish. Notes of mild pine, grass/hay, fruity ale yeast, faint grain, stewed leaves and a twinge of cardboard. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, spicy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of pine, stewed hops and grainy caramel.
A decent brew - not world champion but certainly drinkable. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour have a hoppy bite and a nice caramel backbone. Good body. Goes down quite well; worth a punt if you chance across it.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a light amber/bronze colour with a massive frothy head that takes hours to die down.
Smells fairly malty and yeasty.
Tastes dark and malty with a significant yeast and alcohol tang.
Overall a decent ale, but by no means a session beer. Wouldn't be my preferred choice of bitter.

Beer with a beautiful red chestnut honey colour, slightly hazy, with a foam, unfortunately, too much fading.
In the nose there is a basic English malty and a background of hops on average bitterness, with traces of red fruit and dried fruit, and later some hint of gooseberry.
In the mouth it is very malty (perhaps too much), with slight woody notes and red fruit (maybe a red cherry). Although you can feel the caramel in a clear manner, the presence of feelings connectable at tea leaves is enough to balance the whole beer structure. All this is better highlighted in the aftertaste. A drinkable beer, average, but perhaps not the masterpiece that someone mentioned us.
