pours a hazy mellow yellow gold body with orange tinges and a cream colored foam head that juts up and holds at two fingers+ with a moderately high retention and leaves specs and slathers of thick sudsy lacing behind as it settles to a murky cap with a defined halo
aroma kicks off well, showing of that double dry hopping with a smooth doughy floral sweet and juicy punch with coconut and tangerine along with mild herbal-sided pine and bitter rind; slight white wine feel here in the mix with must and light sourness
taste follows that nose up with a decently heavy helping of smooth coconut and caramel malt with herbal hop and a dash of melon.
mouthfeel is high carbonation and medium body that leans slightly watery but ultimately smooth and chewy and finishes mildly dry with an herbal hop bitterness laced with coconut aftertaste
overall:
this was one of my favorite brews of 2021, but I sat with it over multiple packs since its release before finally reviewing. I wondered if it would be consistently good at delivering what I was experiencing, and after several 6'ers and a few singles, I can confirm that this has earned a place as a "go-to" - it's easy, complex, different, and reliable. the coconut is sublime, and that comes from someone who is typically against that flavor, but it is highlighted here so wonderfully with great complimentary notes to back it up. the hops here are a great blend, and this is a solid example for each of them, namely sabro. the hallertaus were an excellent choice here to compliment with a dash of oddness and the citra backs that up with the melon and gooseberry shades. I'm not sure this one will get the love it deserves, and to be honest, I had backed away from Saint Arnold completely before accidentally purchasing this without realizing the brewer's name there hidden in the can art. it just looked like Super Mario Bros 2 artwork so I was sold haha.
give her a chance. you likely won't regret it.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a super hazy yellow-amber color with a huge head of puffy off-white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of bready and doughy smell mixed with lots of tropical fruits of tangerine and pineapple. Along with these aromas comes light smells of must and herbal smell, as well as some notes of earth and pine.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready flavor mixed with hop flavors of an herbal and earthy nature. There is a light tropical fruit sweetness and a bit of caramel upfront, both of which get slightly weaker as the taste moves forward. All the while the earthy and herbal hops get stronger and a joined by a bit of yeast and grass. With a little bit of a citrus surge at the very end, one is left with a rather bready and moderately hoppy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is chewy and thick with a carbonation level that is low. Overall, a bit higher carbonation level may have been slightly better, but all in all, the feel was OK.
Overall – An alright Hazy IPA overall, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Poured from can into tulip, good 2 finger off-white head, good retention and lacing. Hazy golden in the glass. Fruity, tropical on the nose, coconut rules the nose. Taste is sweet malt, citrus, pineapple and coming at the end is an almost toasted coconut. Finishes with a good sharp bitterness, residual candy sweetness and coconut on the palate. Finish is somewhat dry, with the carbonation keeping it lively on the tongue. Drinks smooth, good beer to mix in but not one to drink multiples in one sitting. Goes down really good, alcohol hidden too well.

A: Pours a clear golden/yellow color. A two finger white head forms with good retention. Light lace is left as the foam recedes.
S: A dank and pungent aroma up front. Kind of a generic stone and tropical fruity aroma that works well. Citrus/lemon rind mingles as well as coconut. I have never gotten "coconut" from hops or an IPA until this, I have always heard it as a descriptor for Sabro, but I could never pick it out. Definitely here though and I like it.
T: Citrus, lemon rind, topical fruits. Again that coconut. Clean cracker like malts. Melon rind, and a lingering bitterness.
M/O: A medium body with good carbonation. Crisp, clean and finishes dry. No alcohol in sight, and really easy and enjoyable to drink
Kind of a tweener of a regular and Imperial IPA. Not sure I would put this all the way in the Imperial/Double IPA style, but no bother. Just enjoyable and something I can come back to. Which is Saint Arnold's MO. Interesting that I do get quite a bit of coconut here, as that is something I have never really picked out in an IPA. Maybe a little bit of power of suggestion, but think Saint Arnold just knows what they are doing.

Not a bad beer but a bit dull.
Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Clear yellow color with decent head and good lacing. Citrus smell and taste. Fairly light and refreshing for an imperial IPA. Like I said not bad but a. It boring on the taste.

Light golden clear color. Smells tart, little danky, citrusy, and alcohol notes. Flavor is robust, hoppy, nice yeast notes, and with alcohol finish. Hard for me to nail down the hop profile, but I like it. Medium body, decent carbonation. Poured it out of a can. I like it and would buy again.
