This is literally the lightest beer I’ve ever seen. It almost looked clear pouring it out of the can. Nice head that dissipates quickly. Smells slightly sweet, almost like banana. Taste is extremely watery. A small bit of lager flavor on the front end but very quickly fades. I assume this is trying to be a light beer in style, but honestly I’d prefer a Coors Light or even Bud Light over this.

Canned 10/7/24. Drank 11/29/24
Pour is a very pale yellow. Chalk white head fades quickly.
Nose is corn, maybe a hint of sulfur, subtle grassy hops. Grain
Taste is similar. All soft doughy grain, corn, cracker, hint of grassy hops. Not bitterness to speak of. A bit of corny sweetness.
Clean, crisp, dry, light body.

As advertised, it is certainly light and refreshing. A well made beer, and definitely better than the BMC light lagers. But at something like $9.99/6er I don’t see myself ever reaching for it.

Pours a very pale yellow. Head is alright, stays nice but has some loose bubbles. Goes down so smoothly, it should be criminal. Light, crisp as hell, give me more! One of THE most drinkable beers Ive ever had. There is no sappy sweetness, or rice taste. THIS is an American lager. Ill take another one please

St. Arnold makes quality beer.
Drank 2 of these after mowing the lawn on a 93 degree day here in DFW. It has enough flavor and taste to be better than bud light, and Mich Ultra. Has a nice smooth finish and mouthfeel. I’d buy it again!

This is an ultra-light style beer, so keep that in mind when you try it.
It’s extremely clear with very little color except for some pale yellow with a small white head.
It has a bright slightly malty smell with a little sulphur from the lager yeast.
The taste was somewhat shocking, there is way more flavor than I anticipated. It’s very balanced, you can taste the Pilsner malt and the sweetness of the corn adjunct (it doesn’t taste like corn) the perle hops give it a nice slightly citrus taste.
It’s very light on the mouthfeel with a pleasant aftertaste.
I saw this at the store and after reading the label that it was an ultralight style, I was very resistant to try it. With the exception of Heineken silver, I truly loathe those styles.
I’m glad I finally tried it, without a doubt this will be my go-to until they stop making it. For a 100 cal 2.7 carb beer, it’s amazing.

A: Pours a clear, basically transparent, pale yellow color. A small bubbly white head forms. That recedes with little lace left behind.
S: A neutral grain aroma. That is about all I get, not aromatic, not really anything.
T: Cereal grains, light toasted malts, some generic sweetness. Maybe just the faintest hint of grassy hops, but no real bitterness.
M/O: A light body for sure. Effervescent carbonation. Certainly not hard to drink. Though not something I'm looking to come back to all that often.

This is a hard one to really put a number too, and will for sure not be a hit on this site. Its suppose to be something you don't think a lot about, and just drink. Well, I guess it is that. Though, it is also pretty boring. I love Saint Arnold, and like the less is more approach, but this isn't anything to really look for. I tired it once, and that will be all.

I see a new SA can, I grab it. With a name like Grand Prize, I assume it’s a recipe that has won an award at some festival. I’m very underwhelmed at what I end up drinking.

Super light color, almost water like. No lacing. Minimal nose. Minimal taste. Low carbonation.

I feel ripped off like I just spent $9.99 on a six pack of bud light. If they advertised or named it as a low cal, low carb, low abv, etc I wouldn’t be mad about it, but I feel like Grand Prize is misleading. Maybe it won some award for best lager under 100cal. Who knows, all I know is I won’t ever buy it again.

I had the pleasure of drinking the exact recipe of the original Grand Prize beer resurrected by New Magnolia in Houston, so I was excited to see how Saint Arnolds interpretation compared, keeping in mind theirs it a light beer. Pours a clear light yellow with a nice one finger fluffy white head, settling to a nice film throughout the drink. Slight nose of grains. Taste is similar to what I remember from Magnolia Grand Select...typical AAL taste but a little more pronounced when compared to most lite beers. The same with mouthfeel. Its got a little more heft then Miller Lite, Coors Light, etc. Overall, I think this is a very good alternative to most light beers on the shelves when you want something with a little more taste and body.
