22 ounce bottle, this one was a slow gusher so luckily I was able to get this poured before any spillage took place. Served in a Unibroue tulip, the beer pours a dark gold color with a couple inch frothy off-white head that took a while to settle down. There's also a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like peppery spice, pears, earthiness, bready/wheat malt, and some orange peel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some tart apples and hay/grassiness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and is well carbonated. The soft carbonation helps make this smooth and easy to drink. It's nice to see a local brewery make a good saison like this. I'll be buying this one again! $6.99 a bottle.

My second beer from Sideswipe Brewing, previous being Elegant Hooligan. An excellent Saison style beer that pours with an astounding head and a deep amber golden hue. Nose is very complex with notes of citrus, spicy yeast, a hint of Belgian candy malt. Taste is excellent, light sweetness from Belgian candy sugar, light spiciness from Belgian yeast, tart fruits, green grapes, lemon zest, orange peel, a light pepper taste, and a finish that has a light tartness on the back. Lacing of light tight bubbles that never seems to end. Excellent. Saison is far from my favorite style, especially when looking at Belgian beer, but this is one I will look for again and will try and get to this area of Ohio. Fantastic. Cheers!

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into a tulip. Appears a nice golden orange color, with thick, fluffy off-white head. Not a ton of lacing, but the head sticks around for a while.
Nose is full of fruitiness, and earthiness. There is a lot of complexity here, as it starts off with the deep fruits, followed by a hint of lemon, and then the earthiness. The yeast notes work well here, and the aroma keeps drawing you back in for more. The taste starts with a bit of caramel, but is quickly followed by tart fruit, citrus, and the spicy yeast. Again, this is very complex. The tartness continues through the finish and hangs around with a bit of citrus bitterness. There's a ton going on here, and the more you look for, and the more you let it warm, the more complex things get.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with good active carbonation, and leaves a slight stickiness behind. Overall, this is a great brew. It is full of deep layers of flavor, and complex aromas, and is very drinkable.
