Most beer drinkers are familiar with the Dry Irish Stout, popularized by a certain brewery in Dublin. The Export Stout is a somewhat bigger version of this beer made to survive oceanic travel, yet still retain the dry, roasted flavors of the original without out being too sweet or cloying.

Drinking this at The Ponysaurus Brewery in Downtown Durham NC.
Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Appears very dark brown almost black with a tannish foamy head that lasted then dropped to a thick Ring.
Smells malty sweet, chocolate, coffee.
Taste follows the nose nicely.
Mouth feel is medium for the style.
Overall a very nice example of the style that I would definitely order again.

16 oz can at the 2019 Suwannee Roots Revival.
Pours with a clear but very dark black-brown body. The large tan head has moderate retention.
Mild aroma but the flavor is moderately strong for style, with plenty of chocolate and toast. Expresso in both the aroma and the flavor.
Smooth body with medium-light carbonation, well hidden ABV, and a semi-dry finish.

my first beer from these guys, a solid and authentic take on a dry stout, with a nice degree of roast and some good layering to it, dried cherry and raisin sort of fruitiness in here, even tobacco for a second, along with the more familiar roasted and coffee notes in here from all the dark barley. it has a very european vibe to it for me, with a bready flavorful ale yeast, english or irish or something, a nice add, very cohesive with that element in the mix. i get a cola note, trace smoke, a flash of cranberry or something slightly astringent, and then just a bit of a toffee sweet character as well. the body is just a little thin for me, especially with the higher abv for the style, i wanted the whole thing to have a little more weight to it, but i guess it stays easy drinking because of the lesser grain structure, although it seems to be begging for me. carbonation is nice, the yeast flavor is really a needed aspect of it, and the layers of flavor from the grain are impressive. i wish i drank the can a little fresher, a little oxidation to it, but its well made beer and has be excited to be out in this part of the country later this month, hopefully get to check out more of their beers!

L -pours so dark it's essentially black, light brown head that fizzes up but settles back to a thin covering.
S- roasted malts, sugar, molasses.
T - sweet, bready, coffee. On the sweeter side compared to dry bitter stouts, but still for black coffee drinkers.
F - probably the best part of this beer is how it is filling and easy drinking at the same time. Carb is spot on. Medium bodied. Taking big swigs of this beer is super satisfying.
O - great drinking stout.

Pours nearly jet jet black except for a tinge of mahogany when held to the light a somewhat lackluster thine deep beige head atop.Italian roast coffee really hits home in the nose along with a tinge of vanilla and raisin, wow the coffee aromas are fantastic. The charred dark roasted coffee melds well with a buttery rum element making for a mixed palate, both flavor notes extreme in a very good way.If you like Italian/espresso coffee and a hot toddy than this beer is for you.
