Another happy pour at UBH.
A very interesting offering from IF. Rumor has it that GABF would not allow this to be entered in the Gratzer category. Too high ABV! How a beer that nobody has brewed forever can have a distinct style is beyond my comprehension. But the beer....
Think wheat then add a serious amount of smoke, add a very tart finish on it...my my. I wasn't sure on the first sip (or 1st goblet, for that matter). You need to have another and then another to really appreciate the complexity. Very much like eating smoked meat, not a taste for everyone but I think this is a fantastic beer. Great work!

Had on tap at Flynns Cedarville. Appearance is light tan with a creamy one inch head. Very nice beer. Light, smokey with a strong pilsner backbone. Could do a couple.

Served in a goblet at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a slightly hazy pale yellow with good vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.
Smell: Smoke, ham, bready, and some sweetness.
Taste: Same as above with slight bitterness. Reminds me of a smoked shoulder.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, light bodied, smoke, ham, and low to medium carbonation.
Overall: Nice smokey and hammy beer.
