Grodziskie
Learn more about the Grodziskie style of beer.
A light-bodied, oak-smoked wheat ale. The dominant characteristic is the smoked malt flavor in a light body. The grain bill is usually entirely wheat malt. Yellow to gold in appearance. Smoke flavor usually dominates but can be subtle in some examples. Hop character is low with hints of spice and herbal and floral attributes. Groziskie should not be tart or sour. Originally developed in the Polish town of Grodzisk (Grätzer in German). In English it is pronounced as grow-JEES-kee-uh and also known as Grätzer (pronounced “GRATE-sir”) in German speaking countries. Similar to German Rauchbier and American Smoked Beer but with a less intense smoke profile.
