The first in our heritage series, Amelia is a highly carbonated, low-alcohol smoked snack. Sometimes called Polish Champagne, Grodziskie is bright, sparkly, and smokey. Single decocted and brewed almost exclusively with oak smoked wheat malt, Amelia has complex notes of sweet applewood smoke and water cracker, with a spritzy and mineral body.

Taster flight at Hillsboro location. Pale golden pour, crispy head, streaky lacing. Light smoky aroma, campfire. Taste is bready, mellow with a gentle smoky character. Soft on the palate.

Enjoyed this at the Hawthorn brewpub.

Pours a light gold with visible activity. Crisply effervescent with a gentle campfire smoke nose and sip. It’s approachable and an easy drinker.

this is elite, world class example of the style here, as good as it gets, i wish more brewers would play in this space, but i was lucky to come across this, an absolute gem of a beer, especially for smoked and historical beer enthusiasts like myself. there is so much to like about this. the smoke is unique, woody and bright without anything acrid or bitter about it, and its clean on the swallow, not a long smoke linger on the palate, and there is a golden raisin and even fig type fruitiness to it, really complex even on its own, wonderful minerality through this too, earthy and grounded up but also drying and uplifting, aided there by effervescent big bubbled carbonation. some breadiness to it, but not that familiar hotdog water thing, its not meaty like some of these can be, its more delicate than that, even slightly floral in the center. i get light bitterness late, and its crisp like a pale lager, but also has a little more fermentation flavor than that, super cohesive. the mouthfeel is wonderful, its wheaty and fluffy but also really light, so drinkable and satisfying. refined to a very high degree, and overall a truly impressive beer, just my second from these guys and the first that isnt a collaboration, top notch. i wish this were available where i lived, i would definitely buy it. cool that they can it, probably not a fast mover, smoked beers never seem to be, but it should be, it rules. my utmost respect.

Can from The Beermongers. Head to head with the Chuckanut Grodziskie.

Golden yellow with a large white head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is crisp and smoky with a really lovely smoke depth, a blend of leaves, wood and smoldering forest floor. The palate opens crisp and clean with a light smoke character, a light sweetness with a high, mineraly carbonation. The smoke is more prominent than on the Chuckanut beer, and while light in body, watery even, the additional ABV makes this have a better mouthfeel as well. Drying, delicately smoky on the finish, crisp and tasty. While I doubt I'd pick this over a rauch helles, this is well done.
