Can't Smoke Our Way Out Of This One Grodziskie - Polish Smoked Wheat Beer Collaboration with Bavarian Bierhaus (Milwaukee, WI) Grodziskie, also known as Polish Champagne is a Spritzy low abv oak smoked wheat beer. This beer features a blend of Bohemian Czech Pilsen Malt & Oak Smoked Wheat, traditionally these are brewed with 100% Oak Smoked Wheat but we preferred to create a more harmonious balance combining the citrus character of the Marynka (PL) Hops with the smoky flavor of the oak smoked wheat, creating a refreshingly light & flavorfully crisp summer beer.

From a 16oz can:
This is a very clear pouring beer from the can. Golden in color. There's no carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The head that formed is 1 finger and white. Not super long lasting overall, but there's some beautiful lacing on the glass.
I get tons of buttery biscuit from the aroma. I also get a lemon like smell from this beer. It does, and this will sound weird, but it has a medicinal aroma that is light, but there. Not sure how that fits in, or makes sense to this old man.
Taste - Oh, wow, the smoke in this beer just builds and builds. It's layered and nuanced. This smoke isn't stupid crazy, but just lingers in my throat. I do get the buttery biscuit and lemon also, but, holy smoke. I'm guessing the strange aroma was from the smoke.
The smoke just oats my throat. That is the main feeling for this beer. I do get a citrus like feeling also.
I am babbling thinking about this beer. I like it a lot, but, I could see how some would not. It is a very well made beer in my opinion.

8 oz pour on tap at the Milwaukee taproom. This is moderately smoky in the aroma, slightly less so on the palate. Light breadiness with a hint of campfire, obviously low-abv yet not weak or watery. Overall a great fall beer.

another ancient style done masterfully by central waters, a low alcohol oak smoked wheat beer, simple, clean, smoke forward, citrusy, summery somehow despite the typically more autumnal smoke, some wood to it too, fluffy wheat feel for how low alcohol this is, and without the hotdog water thing some of these have, really quite crisp, almost lagered feeling, great beer, not for every palate im sure, but definitely for mine! real pale, yellow with just a slightly darker hint, clearish, and frothy headed from the tap, nice retention and lace, wispy white foam. the nose is awesome, tree bark, fresh mulch, grill fire, a certain warmth even though its earthy and dry, some light hoppy spiciness, pinecone, melon, first hit off a green bowl, bread grain. the flavor follows, very smoke forward without being acrid or bitter, a light iodine thing and lots of minerals making it seem classically german to me, great pale wheat profile in this. some light campfire active burning character, green grape, dandelion, and white pepper. subtle yeast too, lightly floral, delicate for also being bold, and honestly a really nice take on this style, traditional but also with its own flare. soft texture from the wheat, lots of bubbles, dry smoke lingering, lightly doughy too, but the hops give it some real freshness. i know i was loving life in here and thinking everything was amazing and so therefore really in a position to want to love this when i had it, but its awesome beer, clever as smoked beer goes, old worldy, really drinkable for what it is. they kill it in here! i wish more brewers dabbled in this style space...
