16 oz can dated Winter 2026
Pours foggy hazy pale straw yellow with a frothy white foam head. Smells like oak smoked ham, subtle brine, light toasty bready wheaty malts, mild lemony citrus, a hint of orchard fruit, white pepper spice, and earthy herbal grassy floral hops. Tastes pretty light and mild with smoky oaky briny meaty ham notes, toasted bready crackery wheaty malts, subtle vanilla, lemony citrus, hints of orchard fruit, white pepper, and earthy herbal grassy floral hops. Feels lighter medium bodied, crisp and spritzy with creamy smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a real nice grodziskie style.

Poured a decent head that dissipated to nothing; slight haze; straw colored. Nice clean smoky/bready nose. Surprisingly full-bodied for abv; spritzy, bready, and nice smoke in taste, Highly drinkable with abv and wheat base.

12oz beer poured into a slim snifter.
A: Dull golden color with fairly good clarity. It has maybe just the beginnings of some haze and is not perfectly bright. Bubbly white head stands at two finger and falls very slowly. Small dots of lacing, but nothing more.
S: Pilsner-y malt notes of freshly baked bread, a slight hint of toast, and dried grass. Exceptionally soft smokey quality, like you caught a whiff of a small campfire some mile or two away. Hint of green and grassy hops and a whiff of fresh garden herbs. Suggestions of apple blossom and maybe a touch of orange marmalade.
T: Follows the nose. Pleasantly bready pilsner malt right up front, redolent of a loaf pulled right from the oven and some toasty light grain. Green and slightly herbal/spicy hop notes are background music. The smokiness starts very subtly and builds only a little; it stays very restrained and lightly campfire-esque. Maybe a fleeting flash of pear skin and apple blossom, and a bit of candied orange peel. Quick finish, and the smoke does not linger much. It is mostly lightly bready with some green herbal hops.
M: Light in body. Some malty firmness with a nice round and smooth texture. The mildest hint of gripping hop tannin. Big carbonic bite is seltzery and fairly aggressive. Lots of stiff scrubbing bubbles.
O: This is a "only the cool kids know" sort of beer style, but I wish more brewers would attempt it. I would put Live Oak's version up as the benchmark. This one is solid, but not on that level. The subtle oak smoke is implemented really well, and whatever yeast they used is bringing some very interesting esters that are light and playful. The supreme drinkability you want to see is here, too. My only knock is that it seems over-carbed and aggressive in that way, but it's not a big detractor. I think a conditioned version of this would be killer.

Lightly cloudy pale straw color. Has a big, soapy white head with great retention.
Aroma is smokey and earthy with some mild noble hops.
Flavor is roasted, smoked ham and wheat grains with a decent amount of citrus.
Medium-light bodied, good carbonation. Dry and crisp.
Overall this is a pretty solid beer. It seems to be true to style and is shockingly drinkable despite the flavor.

Light gold pour with a very slight haze, plenty of fine bubbles that fade to a thin mat. Smell is equal parts noble hops and smoke. The smoke is much less obvious in the taste, which is clean and dry with a hint of lemon. Active carbonation - nicely prickly without being excessive. The first Grodziskie I've had, it seems to hit all the notes I'd expect from the style description.

Poured from a 16-oz can stamped “WINTER 2024”. It was purchased cold at the Charlton location yesterday and kept cold. Poured to a Stang at 42 degrees F.
This has a very clear light gold body with an enormous puffy ultra-white head. Carbonation is visible and the rising bubbles are more populous than most pilsners.
The aroma is bready and earthy.
The taste is quite smokey but biscuit and some hop sense pokes through.
The body is light. Despite the rising bubble movie in the glass the carbonation seems right.
Not sure I’m a fan of the style, but this beer seems to hit all the style notes I’ve read.
