Look: It is pale yellow that is cloudy with a white head. Head retention is good.
Aroma: It has a moderate smoke smell with a bit of bacon. There are some grainy notes and a hint of apple.
Flavor: It has a bit of sweetness to it with a smoked flavor. The smoke flavor has a bit of bacon and wood in it. There is a light spicy note with a slight bit of non distinct fruitiness.
Feel: It has a light body.
Overall: This is a light bodied smoked beer with complementary notes that add a bit of complexity to it. It is easy drinking.

My first grodziskie, so I'm unsure of my expectations and am going by style notes. Light golden coloration, with modest cloudiness, less carbonation than expected from descriptions of the style. However, it does have a big burst of hickory smoke up front, confusing my sausage receptors. Smoke, wheat germ, grass, light citrus, and carrot on the flavor profile. Pretty interesting! My partner was repulsed by it.

A: Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate lemon yellow + straw yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense fluffy foamy bright white head that reduces to a few small to medium sized patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of hickory smoked wheat malts with a minimal amount of sweetness. Light aromas of spicy + floral hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of hickory smoked wheat malts with a minimal amount of sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of spicy + floral hops which imparts a hint of bitterness. Light to moderate amounts of smokiness linger well after the finish.
M: Light bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Very slightly crisp initially.
O: A really nice example of this historic and not very common style with really well done smokiness from the hickory smoking of the wheat malts. Very enjoyable, light and refreshing but definitely a beer that you need to enjoy smoke to enjoy (but does not have the iodine flavor that some smoked beers exhibit). Easy to drink with low ABV and well hidden alcohol.
