On tap at Notch Brighton

If my memory serves me right, I’ve only had one Grodiskie before, since it’s a rare historic style not listed on BA. Notch doesn’t usually have Polish beers that often, so I knew I had to try this one out. Let’s get into it

Pours a cloudy yellow gold with 3 fingers of fine white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing

As someone else here said, I find this pretty similar to the Schlenkerla Helles in the nose. I’m picking up on aromas of beechwood smoke, bready malt, honey, earthy wheat, herbal hops, and light toffee

It stays true to this in taste, but also has a little more bite to it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting beechwood smoke, earthy hops, toffee, wheat bread, white pepper, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of charred oak, crackery malt, honey, herbal hops, and a touch of wheat

A light body pairs with moderate tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp and clean beer. Finishes smoky and earthy in a refreshing way

Mark this as another win for Notch, and definitely better than the last smoked beer I had from them. Paired well with the empanadas I got next door

Pale golden straw, that is lightly hazy, and frothy white head. Smoky campfire aroma. This is like a wheated Schlenkerla Helles or Notch Lost In The Dream. Not too smoky, not too wheaty either, but a nice body to it. It sacrifices some of the crispness for a little more body. This is great.

Had on tap in Brighton. Pours slightly hazy, pale yellow in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is wheat and smoked malt. Light bodied, smoky, medium low carbonation. This is delicious, only 3 percent, wow. Nice and sessionable and the smoke is right for the style. It doesn't hit you over the head. Good Polish beer.

Hazy straw color. Minor head with decent leaving in the form of streaks.

The smoke is dominant but not extreme. It's extremely appealing without destraction.

The smoke is strong but not too much like some smoked beers. The wheat is weak comparatively. High carbonation with a weaker body, perhaps the only true negative to this beer. Short but interesting aftertaste.
