Cool and refreshing, this soft summer beer goes down nice and easy. Pale straw in color, with a spirited effervescence, Grodziskie is the specialty beer of its namesake town in Poland. More carbonated than Hefeweizen and lower in alcohol (3.8%), this 100% smoked wheat beer features light, citrus-like overtones with just a surprising hint of spice and smoke in the backnotes. This beer greets you with a lush head of foam and laces the glass beautifully with every sip. Perfect to beat the heat at a late summer barbecue. Relax and enjoy.

A: pale yellow with a white head
S: Smokey. With something what in the back.
T: Smokey, with citrus, and a touch of plastic.
M: light with high carbonation
O: this I've isn't for me, which is funky cause I love smoke, but the combining flavors are super weird together.

A lovely hazy and orange-ish color with a somewhat weak head. Aroma is faint: citrus and smoke. Taste is mostly smoke, almost like smoked ham. Body is medium, which is surprising in such a low-alcohol beer. It's not bad. It's pretty easy to drink, and I'm glad I tried this, but I probably won't revisit it in the future.

I love that there’s a dedicated grodziskie tap at Dovetail. Enjoyed a pour of this at the brewpub. In the glass it is a thin gold with a light dusting of smoke on the nose and sip. Clean and clear finish with just the right kiss of bacon and campfire.

Wow, what a unique style! First I’ve ever tried. And first beer from Dovetail, a sign of great things to come. Small pour at the brewery. Beautiful appearance and an intense nose. You can smell the salty smoke from a distance. Deceptively smoky character for how light it is. Much smokier than their Smoked Helles but not as rich as their Rauchbier. Smoked meats dominate but there’s also some salty citrus and wheat/yeast to round it out. A unique and impressive beer.

Gold opaque pour, poor clarity; white mixed bubbles; ok cap retention; thin ring; a few spots of lace. Smoked ham nose. Smoked ham, light lemon taste. Light watery body; moderate minus carbonation. An odd beer to me - it smells and tastes like a ham sandwich with a squeeze of lemon on it. I don’t want to drink again.

Translucent, pale yellow body; nice carbonation; thick, frothy, white head. Very pleasant aroma; light wheat, light lemon, very faint sense of smoke. The taste follows along the lines of the aroma but with a bit more smokiness; very mild bitterness. Medium body; crisp; light coarseness on the palate; delicately dry finish.
I really appreciate a nicely made grodziskie beer because of their inherent low ABV and mild sense of smoke wheat malt. To create a tasty, crushable beer with these parameters is a feat.
Pouring temperature: 46.8 ℉; canning info: 03/08/23 GROD 8

Thanks to Ovaltine for this one, as part of NBS BIF #15 shenanigans. 16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a very cloudy yellow color with an inch of white head that had good retention and no lacing.
The aroma had smoke upfront, but solid wheat was easily discernible right behind it.
On the tongue, the smoke was stronger, but the grains were bolder as well, so the proportions stayed similar.
The body was light and smooth, with a medium finish.
Drinkability was very good, you could crush several of these at a cookout.
Overall, a very nice brew. Worth trying if you see it.

Pours a an almost dark lemonade (maybe brownish :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::wink:) like color and appearance, very cloudy. Head dissipates very very quick, leaving a small white ring.
A unique smelling smoke to me, it was very heavy at first like band aid; as the nose adjusted it became more pleasant. There is an estery almost hefe like aroma hiding. I’ve noticed this in several dovetail beers which is interesting. It also has a crisp crackery smell to it.
The taste pretty much mirrors the nose, no surprises but it definitely again shows the Hefeweizen like notes.
Light body, with an extra snappy zing to it; finishes with an almost lemon like pop. Very refreshing.

Grodziskie from Dovetail Brewing. Received from @ovaltine in a ninja strike during NBS BIF #15. Stored at 40 degrees after receiving. Reviewed 05/21/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 50.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 58.8 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), surprisingly hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. When rear-lite flavors of some others, same.
Head – Large (Maximum five cm, aggressive center pour), cultured, medium density, short retention, rapidly diminishing to a 0.3 cm crown and a thin, complete cap.
Lacing – Fair. Some islands of tiny bubbles and short segments of melting bands.
Aroma – 4 – Smoky, almost sweet. No hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Starts slightly sweet with mild smokiness found. No hops, no yeast. A bit of hefe clove. No ethanol (3.8 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium to full, creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) A genuinely nice rauchbier, not as clean as a Schlenkerla Marzen, but still quite good. It lacks the bitterness of many US smoked beers (a good thing) and the burning tire flavors and aromas of some others (a VERY good thing). Overall, Grodziskie is a style of which I’d like to see more examples.

16oz can served in a big snifter. No date. Received in NBS BIF #15 from @ovaltine.
Pours a fairly cloudy light yellow with a fairly small head. Smell is smokey with a slightly orangey background.
Taste is in the same direction -- rich smokiness, slight sweetness which comes across as a mixture of honey, flowers, and orange. Slight tangy bite at the end.
Mouthfeel is light and very clean. Overall, this is a very nice beer.

I had a home brew version of a Grodziskie that ….. was a challenge to finish a few years ago, but Dovetail is world-class as a brewery, IMHO, so I’m eager to try this. The pour is a nicely hazy straw color with a dense, creamy white head that hangs around a bit.
The nose is of course smoky, but not distractingly so, and there’s nice citrus esters as well that are bright and reminiscent of a good Hefeweizen. The smoke again is very forward on the taste, but is not overwhelming at all. It complements the bright, citrus flavors perfectly, yielding something I did not know existed - a refreshing smoked beer.
Dovetail is the shizzle dizzle.
