Poured from a 64oz growler into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.
Cobalt to clover lime yellow gradient, nearly clear with a lasting ivory half-finger up top. Thick, soapy lacing - superior retention.
Spicy, fruity nose suffused with white grapes, lemon-lime, pineapple, and mango.
Rye character is potent but supports the fruit flavors and moderate bitterness from the hops perfectly. Passion fruit, white grapes, citrus, and mango come through in the medium-dry finish, but the earthy, tannic (not quite husky) notes from the rye linger after the fruit finally fades.
Silky medium bodied mouth-feel with a touch of astringency and faint alcohol.
Well crafted, bold, and balanced. This seems at least inspired by Alpine Nelson, though I haven't been able to do a direct comparison.
