Can from total Wine Houston enjoyed at home.
Inky black color with a thin tan head that slowly recedes.
Roasty chocolaty creamed coffee with hints of earth and light fruit to counter.

From a can. Black with a half inch of dark brown head. Smells of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Full bodied with good carbonation. Tastes of roasted malt and cocoa with a bitter earthy finish. Nicely done

pours coffee black body and a small tan foam head with low retention that leaves only the occasional thin lacing behind as it settles to a thin cap with defined halo
aroma is bakers chocolate, cold brew coffee, molasses, and a vanilla/cinnamon/citrus peel combo
taste is a warm cinnamon bakers chocolate malt bomb with heavy cold brew notes
medium-low carbonation and thicker body, goes smooth with occasional booze heat before finishing coffee bitter and acidic
overall:
solid but somewhat muted stout. cream and cinnamon with bakers chocolate combo is tried and true, but it does kind of kick into different territory with the shade of cold brew and citrus/orange peel notes. maybe "understated" should be used in place of muted. either way, this is an easy stout that feels full but hides the booze pretty well and could be an easy winter sit-n-sipper, especially if you're a heavy/dark brew hound.

Pours a pitch black color with a finger width brown foamy head. Head retention is good. Lacing is very good. Roasted coffee aroma with some chocolate. Nice roasted coffee taste with some very mild chocolate at the beginning. Medium to heavy bodied with moderate carbonation. Just a nice overall imperial stout.

Notes from 1/19/2020.
Poured from a 12oz can into a tulip glass.
An aggressive pour reveals black beer with 1 finger of brown foam receding at a normal rate leaving a large amount of lacing and a cap. 4.25
The aroma is a bit below medium in strength with notes of coffee, deep layers of chocolate, some vanilla, and more dark roasted coffee. 4.00
The taste is between medium and strong. The flavor is dominated by dark roasted coffee. Cinnamon and chocolate are the supporting flavors. 3.00
The mouth feel is thick, silky, with an oily surface and light carbonation. 4.00
Overall, the flavor is unbalanced. A few sips reminded me of drinking day old cold coffee. If the flavor was more balanced and nuanced I would have enjoyed it. 2.50

Had it from tap at the brewery. The brewery just moved into new digs and they were using plastic cups today, but the beer still look and tasted great!
It had a creamy, thick beige head atop a smooth dark brown body. Dark chocolate smell and taste. Flavors of cinnamon, coffee, and candied orange peel. Smooth, silky feel. Very nice beer.

Appearance: Black glass struggles to hold a halo of tan form, a little spiral galaxy shape in the center of my goblet.
Aroma: Cold black coffee, some charred malt, some light sweet base. A mild earthy hop note as well.
Taste: Coffee, chocolate malt, roasted grain, earthy hop note, a fairly traditional stout profile with a lot of coffee.
Mouthfeel: Medium heavy body and low carbonation leaves a hefty oily coat that triggers a little chew. Finishes with a little heat but mostly dry.
Overall: Monster beer. Heavy flavor, sizable heft, dark and roasted. I like them this way, but it's not what I would call sophisticated, not a lot of subtle flavors to parse, but what's here seems honest and good quality. This is my favorite from the brewery so far.

Pour is black with a finger of fluffy dark khaki head. Good retention.
Nose is coffee and a huge wave of chocolate. Roasted malts
Taste follows. A huge wave of coffee upfront followed quickly by a big hit of dark, bittersweet chocolate. Hint of vanilla, mocha, roasted malt. Finish is like biting into a high quality dark chocolate bar.
Nice creamy body with a lingering mocha.

Coal black pour with a foamy dark brown head. Really nice aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is strong and bitter with a lot of dark coffee flavor backed by some light cocoa powder and chocolate along with a hint of grain.
