Pour is jet black with a finger of deep khaki head
Nose is a ton of soft bourbon, oaky vanilla, dark roasted malts, chocolate, toasted marshmallow, toasted oak.
Pour is soft bourbon playing with vanilla, roasted malts, rich dark chocolate. Hint of coffee, tanin. Excellent. Finishes with a rich fudge brownie batter

undated can to tulip
pours a coffee black body with an uninspired tan foam head that has minimal retention but leaves behind a high amount of thin webbed sudsy lacing as it settles to a murky cap with defined halo
aroma is bourbon and roasted chocolate malt with shades of dark stone fruit barely squeaking thru
taste is just that - chocolate and bourbon. bourbon has its bite subdued and warm woody barrel is certainly accounted for.
mouthfeel is low carbonation and thick body. it's full and smooth and soft with a minimal amount of booze heat. finishes woody and slightly dry with a bourbon and chocolate aftertaste.
overall:
it's full, clean, smooth and has bourbon with minimal heat and heaps of chocolate. total winning combo but it lacks depth so if you're looking for anything but chocolate and bourbon just mosey on over somewhere else. if you wanna sip on a beer like one would wine and enjoy the taste of bourbon and/or chocolate, go on and spring for it. it'll sit with you.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a very dark brown nearly black color with a one finger head of light brown colored foam. The head has a very light level of retention, fading fast to leave a light level of spider-web lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is potent of a rich-dark roasted malt smell mixed with some cocoa and a large sum of molasses and brown sugar sweetness. Along with these aromas comes a good hit of a bourbon smell as well as some notes of oak and char. Other dark fruit smells of cherry and plum are in there as well and with a little bit of vanilla and some smoke, one is given a rather dark and boozy smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a dark roasted malt taste mixed with some cocoa and a hint of coffee. Upfront there is also a decent showing of sweetness with a moderately strong brown sugar and molasses taste. The sweet tastes get even stronger and are joined by other sweet tastes of a dark fruit (plum and raisin) as well as lots of toffee. At the same time there is a developing of some of the boozy flavors that were detected in the nose. At first the oak hits and is followed by a nice warming boozy whiskey flavor. With some char and leather developing as well, and with all the sweetness that arrives, one is left with a rather warming and sweeter stout taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and creamy with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. For the dark, moderately sweet and boozy tastes of the brew the feel is great and makes for a nice slow sipper.
Overall – A bit on the sweeter side, but overall, very drinkable. It has a nice warming taste overall.
