16 oz. can poured into a pint glass. The Penny Blonde pours a light golden/deep straw in color with a bit of wheaty green haze. A airy white cap lingers for a bit.
Aroma has notes of lemon and perhaps a light touch of honey. Lemon notes are present again on the taste along with a fairly full body for the style. Bit of wheat funk appears on the nose at times after some exposure, bit too much in the lemon pledge direction vs. pure hop citrus character as well. Taste is otherwise quite muted, light malts and a touch of lemon, moderate carbonation on the finish. Overall not as crisp as I prefer in the style, touch sweet and perhaps would stand up to a more robust food pairing like salmon and rice.

Clear pale yellow with plenty of white foam in the St. Bernardus globe. The aroma is interesting, I'd call it resiny with a touch of citrus peel. Fairly substantial malty body.
Very wheaty tasting, slightly sweet. A hint of lemon and a scratch of bitterish resins in the aftertaste. Certainly an above average Blonde Ale. From the 16 oz can purchased at Barons Market.
