It's a black as ink beer, topped with a half-inch of beige head and good retention. The roastiness of this dry stout is well represented and appealing. Besides roasted malt, dark chocolate and a kiss of hops add to the depth of this robust aroma. Following almost to suit is the taste; it bring roasted unsweetened chocolate to the palate. I get a strong hard water note. The taste of mushy bananas. The aftertaste leaves a dry and roasty sensation. Despite the beer's robust character, it is actually light bodied. However, I feel that the carbonation is too peppy.
On the whole, this is one way to do a proper dry stout.
