Good color and viscosity on the pour. Deep and brooding; motor oil consistency.
Lot of rum barrel and coconut on the nose; there is a lot of dark fruit coming through as well from the base stout, but not really getting orange or pineapple in particular. With some time in the glass, however, you do start to get a sort of candied citrus component coming through.
The palate has a really great balance of coconut and barrel-aged base. Rich, sweet, but not overly cloying. A little bit more of that "tiki" quality in the flavors, but the subtlety of the fruit adjuncts is totally fine in this case as the Rum barrel and coconut shine well on their own. Much like with the nose, I do get the citrus after some time in the glass, which helps bolster those initially very mild undertones of pineapple. I think as far as the nutmeg goes, it's not really something you get unless you really dig deep, but would 100% notice its absence if you were to try a version with and without.
The weight on this is excellent, and 50° is a perfect temperature to pour. Sticky but smooth, viscous but not a WeldWerks smoothie. Finishes with lingering coconut and a slight rum twang, as well as some residual bitterness from the coconut.

The thick af burnt brown to tar black pour builds a moderate mocha foam settling to a wide collar.
Actually quite woody, it almost achieves a hickory smell that may be a little off-putting, but taste sharply flips the script, largely featuring chocolate covered coconut with a touch of vanilla syrup over a warming booze. Then, almost caught unawares, the orange and pineapple come out on the exhale. Over time, or maybe as I get tipsier, it all actually comes together much like a painkiller cocktail. However, I wouldn't say the rum barrel contributes a lot to the overall flavor profile.
The feel isn't quite as thick as it looks, but it's still quite viscous, cut by a fine but faint carbonation that runs to a sticky finish.

Salty sweet, soy sauce like aromatics on this one!
The taste follows, but has a sweet coconut, chocolate finish with a hint of pineapple...so silky smooth on the palate!
