Short-lived tannish head a standard black brew .... Nose is sweeter than expected for a porter, especially a porter made with sugary adjuncts... The sweetness mixes with the dark maltiness to make almost a weird (but appreciated) chocolate quality.. Flavor is a pretty much the same but dries out quite a bit more toward the finish, still mid-palate there is a lot going on... sweet, molasses essence for sure but it seems a little metallic/coppery IMO.. Surprisingly good and I normally don't really care for porters too much, this glass rises above the pedestrian dark malt brews that occupy a tap in every brewhouse... So surprised by this one.

Vanilla and molasses combine for some sweetness, not too sweet, but enough to take the bitter edge off of the porter. Pours dark brown with small foamy beige head. Light sweet nose, normal porter essence hidden by the added sweeteners. Slick, medium weight body, short finish.
