On tap at Woodland Empire taproom. Very smooth. Smoky character is very subdued but influences taste and finish. Dry, lingering palate. Burning leaves? definitely.

On tap at the brewery tonight.... Pours a slightly hazy dark brown... off white head.. good retention... Nose and flavors are "brown".. Nutty/dry toast/hints of bready sweetness... Sweet wood smoke is thankfully subdued... Malty roastiness is also very low.. I didn't know much about English Porters until tonight and Derek did a pretty nice job.
