Enjoyed a couple nice goblets at the taproom now ... Pours a slightly hazed dark walnut with a light tan head and good retention and lacing.
Nose shows dark fruit with some leather and dry toastiness.
Flavor has nicely balance bitterness with pretty light hop flavors... dark toast with hints of light char... fruitiness makes me think an English yeast might have been used, but what do I know? Well rounded as it warms up with a mild sweetness that really helps tie things together. Whiskey was pretty light IMO, only adding perhaps a vanilla/woody note.
Medium/light body... nice mouthfeel.
This one needs to warm up.... Served cold and it was pretty flat tasting/smelling, but allowing it to come up in temperature made the flavors and aromas really bloom.
Well done. I can't wait until I see what these guys do with the higher ABV fun stuff.

Perfect winter warmer, enjoyed on a cold, damp day. All of the elements come together perfectly, aroma, taste, body, appearance....truly enjoyable. Hints of barrel aging accent the nice malts and hint of hops. Get it while it lasts!
