Lemon and tropics up front. Next up
Is the star of the show- the Brett. The Brett is clean, astringent, phenolic and shows its prominence. There is this restrained acidic note that runs the length of the palate. The oak comes through providing a nice rounded platform for all these flavors to jump off. There is a touch of malty, bread crust apparent as well. I get some mango and very, very nuanced melon flavor in here. Some decent funk that contributes to this complexity of this brew. Lingering nondescript (green) hop note. The Brett really shines as the aforementioned fruits dance over and around the the Brett, but never over powers it. Slight creamy body. Unexpectedly, softer carbonation. Anymore carbonation would make this beer feel drier. This beer finishes fairly dry.
If you are Brett fan this a beer you should give this a try. I'm not an aficionado on sours, but this is a well done, balanced sour beer. It was very drinkable. You can't ask for much more. I took this on a trip with a buddy, but never got around to it. I didn't mind sharing with him, but I'm glad I had this bottle to myself. Woodland is doing some really nice stuff. Another feather in their cap with this offering.

Bottle from Woodland Empire. True to its description, the white grapes and barrel aging really temper the IPA notes, adding lots of tartness, tasty, silky smooth.

This is about as good as it gets. Didn't see it coming but what a delicious beer. Sure I could nitpick it and say I didn't notice any of the oak barrels or it could use a bit more carbonation but I would be a fool. Great beer.

Pours hazy orange with long lasting foamy eggshell head... Nose is amazing melon ball with citrus hoppiness... Flavor has good bitterness but the tropical fruit bowl is the big player.. perfumy brett with warmth.. Very good.
