22oz bottle brought to battle share, cellared for one year. Pours out almost black body capped with a small beige head. Complex aromas from the blend, fruit, roast malts and some wood. Taste is slightly sour, a bit fruity, a bit boozy. Nice consistency and feel. Would be anxious to try this again in another year..

Stumbled upon this and grabbed a bottle.. cuz about $8 for a barrel aged beer? Why not.
Absolutely loved it, I cannot remember exactly why but it was fantastic. Picked up another bottle at the same spot a couple weeks later and cellared it. Then found more! Grabbed two more bottles, one for now and one for the cellar (again).
Same thing, fantastic, with enough barrel components to be excited I had more.
Recently pulled one from cellar... first notes was the massive amount of foam. Oh no! that's not right, then smelled the sour notes. Yup. It was now a sour. Nonetheless I poured a glass for me and my friend, without telling them what it was. Watched them smell and sip it. Whoa, they enjoyed it. So I took a sip. Wow it was now a nice, mellow, sour! Not too acidic, no "off" flavors, the barrel taste was still present.
So while not what I was expecting (and likely not what the brewers expected) it was still a very enjoyable bottle that has me very curious about the 2nd bottle in the cellar!

Bottle picked up at the brewpub last week, and have seen it at most of the other haunts... Poured tonight into my CBC goblet.. black brew with a short lived light tan head.. no lacing. Boozy whisky and vinous notes... almost like there wine barrels were used, or perhaps tawny port, weird... Pretty sweet finish accentuates what I think of as the above mentioned "port".. Very interesting.
