Can picked up tonight at the brewpub... Enjoyed from my CBC Teku... Khaki head rises up and dies back just as quickly atop a dark brown brew.. sorta looks like a porter. Nose has plenty of brown malt notes without any acrid stout qualities.. Flavor is crisp brown malt that shows nice depth of dark toast and hints of cocoa.. fermented out caramel with a light residual sweetness that helps carry the overall maltiness.. Perhaps some added spices that show in the finish, nutmeg or something that shows as a "warm spice" in my mind's palate. Pretty nice.. I dig it. Seems well thought out.

Six pack from the brewery. The warmth is in there, but not readily apparent. I entered this as a brown ale, as it seemed the closest style. Normal pour leads to rich, roasty aroma. Taste follows with a few added layers of sweet and roasty. Again, warming without the burn. Mildly sweet, but still enough bitterness from the roast malts. Really nicely done.
