A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of oranges, tangerines. Taste is the same, but less pronounced, mild bitterness. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Today is the ocCANsion of New CANned Beer Through Tavour Sunday (Week 693) & I am really curious about this one!
From the CAN: "Comet, El Dorado, Idaho 7, Zeus"; "Sumo tangerine & Cara Cara oranges"; "Mixtape IPA Series".
I was both intrigued & suspicious of this one even before the Crack! of the vent. It represented an interesting admixture of both hops and citrus fruits, My Glug was very slow and gentle & it paid off! Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5) & with the sunlight illuminating it from the doorway, it glowed. Unbidden, it created just under two fingers of dense, rocky, tawny head with good retention, leaving behind lots of nice lacing. Nose was simply redolent with orange! It reminded me of the late-1980s/early-1990s when we began moving away from chemical cleaning solvents aboard US Navy ships to a more environmentally-friendly citrus-based solvent. The first time that I poured some of this new solvent into a bucket & added water, this was the smell that emanated forth. Mmm. It was just so pleasant & mellow. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite achieving creaminess, but close. The taste was very citrusy, moderately bitter but with a caramel malt sweetness to take the edge off. I would not have even mentioned the word "Hazy" on the label as it gave it a negative connotation in my eyes. It was not a hazebro at all and even moderate haze is acceptable in this style. This was another return to the citrusy, hoppy, bitter AIPAs that turned me onto the style in the first place. Finish was dry, bitter, citrusy and very pleasant with a lingering citrusiness.

Poured from a 16oz can into a speiglau IPA glass.
Look is a hazy dull orange with an off white head.
Aroma is malty with an orange note at the end that comes off a bit extracty.
Taste is a little more balanced than an aroma.
Good sipper.

How is it possible a brewery that has been around this long can release beer this bad. Not only is this “hazy ipa” not hazy it’s a Diacetyl Bomb. Thin and bitter and just plain terrible. My folks live in Boise so I keep wanting to find someone in this town that makes decent beer. Last time Woodland gets any of my money. This should never have been released.

Draft at WE taproom. Collaboration brew for Whole Foods-Boise. Nice crisp up front hoppiness, sharp and biting. Nice pour with lots of lacing, citrus hops, tangy.
