Appearance: A three-finger ecru had caps the burnt caramel-colored liquid and sticks like a champ; splotchy lacing
Smell: Caramel, cinnamon, ginger, clove and Angostura bitters, with oak undertones
Taste: Caramel, Angostura bitters and a burgeoning spice mix of clove, ginger and cinnamon; the bitters move up a notch, through the middle, along with the arrival of the oak; the finish is sweet and complex
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate to high carbonation; very sticky
Overall: As a change of pace, these cocktail-inspired beers are a lot of fun; this one is a particularly well made one, with tremendous complexity
Thanks, JohnGalt1, for the opportunity

Sweet, sticky, too many things going on here that don’t quite mesh. Kitchen sink beer? But what a difference a year makes, aging brings out the complexities, sweetness mellowed out, smooth, sticky, fruity
