a "banana stand sour" in honor of the new season of arrested development, brewed with smoked bananas, pretty awesome idea for a beer, and it translates well. i cant believe there still isnt a generic american sour or kettle sour category here on BA when adding a beer, berliner is probably the closest of the options, but this isnt that. a very lightly tart brew with a definite ripe mushy banana taste to it, oddly brilliant with the clean bacterial tang, and the fact that they are smoked is neat, and the smoke is more subtle than it might be if they used smoked malt instead. its only there in the background, but adds a really neat layer and even a little bitter earthiness in the finish, ive never had a smoked banana on its own, but now i kind of want to! the almost creamy or smoothie vibe the banana adds is really cool, and seems to add body along with some light wheat malt, it has a full and flush feel thats unique in a sour. i like the tartness being mild, it sets this up to be more drinkable that way, and the banana element really gets to come through. the smoke is way cool, the high carbonation is just right for this, and overall we have an extraordinarily unique ale here that really blew me away for being different and delicious. i love new flavors in beer, and this one really delivered with the smoked bananas. i have been loving these guys since moving to town!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
