16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Bright golden poor with a small filmy head. Aroma features citrus, the tart kind, along with a little bit of the Milky notes from the lactose. Taste comes in like a lemon curd sweet with just a little gentle Citrus sting. Very refreshing on a hot summer day.

a key lime lager, seems like these guys do quite a lot of flavored lagers, but they execute really well, i wonder if its all the same base beer or what the deal is. in any event, this is light and flavorful at the same time, the base beer is clean and crisp and refreshing, and the key lime is obvious but not intrusive, but the beer is a little sweet overall, almost like there is some lactose or something in along with the lime, like not just key lime but key lime pie, fortunately, the flavor is great. the lime is zesty and a little bit acidic, which along with the light pils type body, keep the sweetness from making this beer heavy. a swear i get a hint of vanilla in the sweetness too, right on the swallow, and it lingers just a little. not much hops going on, and a really clean ferment on it, so the lime element really does stand out. not quite as drinkable and refreshing overall as i think i wanted this to be, but its another creative and nicely executed beer from these guys. woodland empire has definitely becomes one of my favorite local breweries here in boise!

16 oz can
Pours hazy golden. White lacing for a head.
Aroma is of fresh citrus, grassy malts, and a hint of clover.
Flavor is of lemon/lime citrus over a pleasant sweet creamsicle. Some floral notes in the finish.
Medium to full body, tingly carbonation.
A refreshing and uniquely flavored lager. The citrus and lactose go together amazingly well. This beer is good and I haven't had anything else quite like it. I'll remember this one for a while.
