Look: Slightly opaque orange and the pour brings on a frothy head that pillows up and slowly recedes, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Ruby red grapefruit, blueberries, passionfruit, pine, oranges, melon, fir needles, lemon-lime, and sweet bready malt
Taste: A huge conifer punch along with citrus fruits get things going and soon joined by melons and berries. Pine and fir return in the middle and dominate before berries and some tropical fruit notes re-enter along with a nice bite to close things out
Mouthfeel: Full – leaning towards chewy, a little slickness, medium-high carbonation, and prominent dryness on the finish
Overall: I dig it. This is a tasty semi-throwback WCIPA that also brings some more new-school melon, berries, and tropical fruit notes to the table and all in a nicely balanced and fairly easy drinking package. I think these folks are underrated and I would definitely love to find another offering in the rotating 2xIPA series

16 oz single can from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR.
Around $4
Not the usual art work for Woodland..
Surprisingly given the other reviews this pored sort of hazy. Hazy orange with a lovely thick and foamy cream coloured head.
Aromas are mostly of traditional citrus like hops. Orange peel, lemon zest, tangerine. Nice.
Taste similar but has a quite substantial malt backbone...tastes like a caramel orange. Nicely PNW.
Mouth feel is pretty good medium body medium t low carbonation. Lingering hop bitterness.
Nice DIPA..still puzzled about the haziness.

solid hoppy offering here, more straight up than i am used to from these guys, who always seem inclined to put weird things in their beer, make everything unique, and while at first i was stoked on something more familiar, a few sips in i found myself wishing for the usual woodland empire flare. a deeper color to this, almost bronze looking, a tall white head from the tap sits on top, fully at ease, nice clarity here too. aroma has some malt balance to it behind the bold hoppiness, which has some bitterness, plenty of woodsy pine, and a grapefruit thing to me, not overly intense, sort of the proportions of an imperial pale to me. a little note of honey and toast up front from the grain, and somewhat of a one note hop profile surprisingly, it hits quick and finishes bitter but its not particularly interesting or dynamic, which i guess helps with drinkability, but this was a little boring overall, especially by their standards. undeniably well made like so much of their beer is, very well hidden alcohol strength too, but not one of their more memorable beers for my money. nice with asian food, an unexpected combination, a touch filling, but clean to drink and very fresh. ive preferred others from this mixtape series...

On-tap in Garden City and served in a snifter.
A: Beautiful clear gold with a small off-white head.
S: Fairly juicy notes of Simcoe and Cascade bringing impressions of citrus rind, pine, and mild tropical fruit, with a dose of malt sweetness. Moderately bright and floral.
T: Lightly catty in the hops department with that generic ‘juicy’ flavor that blends into the malty sweet backbone. Balanced and fairly old-school.
MF: Decent-sized body here with that malt backbone, medium-to-full with a slight dryness and hop bitterness.
O: Very familiar and dated, and that’s not a bad thing; a welcome change from the hazy craze.

16oz can from brewery. Medium, clear golden, fine white head lasts throughout. Citrusy aroma, light floral notes. Taste kicks the hops up a notch, some caramel malts, grassy, herbal, sweet. Lots of things going on here, but it meshes really well.
