16oz can from HomeBrewStuff. Clear golden pour with a one finger fluffy white head. Hoppy aroma, piney, green, woody. Taste starts with a blast of mildly astringent hops, then notes of citrus, tapering off to a bitter finish. Nice hop bite on this.

Pours from a the can a light, crisp pale with good transparency. The hop profile doesn't pop or jump out to you, this is more clean and smooth with flavors and aromas of green melon, lemon, some grass, mild malt backbone, as well as a lingering impression of grapefruit. Doesn't get too pithy or bitter, very clean and drinkable. Well done overall.

the latest in the mixtape ipa series, really neat hop complexion here, and dynamite beer overall. where the heck are these guys sourcing their hops lately? first a new one to me in their polish lager, and now this one with trident and solero, which are also pretty new to me, among others, very cool! this beer is so good, so fresh, so distinctive. it seems these days making unique ipa is almost impossible, everyone is buying the same ingredients and everyone is brewing the same way. this is dry hoppy like a new england type but lighter bodied than most hazy types, plus it has some bitterness, so maybe its kind of a crossover, not sure where they intended to land there, but the result is an unfiltered type hoppy brilliance with an easier drinking, simpler grain base, right on. the hops are crazy, i smell and taste everything from vanilla beans to melon rind, green gooseberry to juicy pear, lemongrass to cilantro, a definite lemon curd thing here too, almost a sorachi ace sort of profile, oily in feel too which is cool, coats the palate but in the absence of too much malt it remains light to drink on, the right texture for a hop bouquet so bright. some grapey sativa notes, a tropical pop too, guava and mango, and finally some bitterness that lingers past the swallow, man this is good! i have to say i dont know much about trident or solero hops, but i need to find more beers with them, they really stand out in this as wildly original and super complex and flavorful, and woodland empire has a real winner on their hands here. they should consider making this a full time beer in their lineup, its among the best ive had from them. truly unique on the hops side, memorable!
