Bomber Brewing 'Bike Route Best Bitter' @ 3.9% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $6
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a dark golden/amber in the glass with a medium size off-white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-hints of caramel
T-just an ok tasting ESB , kinda weak actually
MF-mild carbonation , medium body
Ov-barely just an ok beer , needs work

I bought this in a bomber bottle from Spirit of Seymour in North Vancouver and was really excited to try it. Best bitters done well back in the UK are amazing beers despite their often low ABV. This one has a typical 3.9% for a best bitter but it doesn't taste anything like any bitter I've tasted back home. So from that perspective it was a bit disappointing.
As a Pale Ale, however, it's a nice sharp hoppy (ish) beer that I would recommend drinking. It's quite a dark pale ale with bitter caramel on the aroma that carries through to the taste. It has lots of flavour for a lower ABV beer so it's not as sessionable as most bitters but that's not a bad thing.
This is a lovely beer, for sure, but it's not a bitter for me. I'm visiting the brewery in early Sept with Vancouver Brewery Tours so I'm looking forward to swing their place.
