Thanks Johnnie.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark red/amber to brown color with a thin layer of off white foamy head. Quickly settling with a soft sound of fizz, barely any lace rears its face.
The aroma had some sweet caramel to toffee malts, wheaty grains, dark fruits and malted chocolate. Some dark wafer-like/Belgian notes round out the bottom.
The flavor yielded to the sweetness blending all of the prior mentioned aromas. The aftertaste shoulders some caramel/toffee malts rolling with wheaty grains.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good level of carbonation and some grip of it along my tongue. Finish was semi-wheaty with some length of Belgian throatiness.
Overall, odd beer to me, I haven't had too much of this style but honestly I don't think I would seek this one again.

Bottle from Bert's
Dark brown with ruby highlights and a large bubbly tan head that dissipates quickly. Light dark dried fruit, caramel, spicy wheat and some yeasty esters. Somewhat over carbonated with a bubbly mouthfeel and a medium thin body. Not a fan.
