Bottle from the Drinkery Derry.
solid black color with a decent sized long lasting foamy beige head that persists. Rich chocolate aroma with hints of earth and spice. Light caramel with a big milk chocolate maltiness offset nicely with a subtle earthy spicy pepper flavor. Rich creamy velvety mouthfeel. Medium Body. This is a nice beer, but I feel like it would have worked better for me with a bit more chili presence.

Nice chocolate flavor with a hint of pepper. The beer is a little thin for a stout. Drinks like a porter but very tasty. The pepper builds as you drink it but not overwhelming.

Bottle date of 3/23/15. Pours a dark brown color with a small bubbly tan foam head and not much in the way of lacing. Chocolate is predominately the aroma detectable with maybe some chili pepper coming through too. Tastes of chocolate, a fudge marshmallow combo, and some charred malt. Medium bodied with low carbonation and smooth on the palate with slight heat from the chili's on the finish. Overall, a real nice flavorful stout from a local brewery that was better than I was expecting!

From the 650 ml. bottle. 2015 batch. Sampled on April 11, 2015.
This beer was introduced to the enthusiastic crowd that attended the grand opening of the Out.Haus Ales tasting room on April 11, 2015. It is available in bottles.
The color of the pour is a deeper brown tone with a modest tan head that lingers.
The aroma leans more on the cooked chocolate side and dark malt side and not so much with the chili pepper.
Medium body.
The flavor begins with a chocolate note and a hint if bitterness, which could be due to the pepper. But as I make my way through the entire bottle, the final sips step forward to offer that spicy pepper bite to finish. It is an evolving beer.
