From the 650 ml. bottle that was released in April 2017. Sampled on April 30, 2017. Acquired at the brewery.
The pour is near black with ruby red hues in the light and modest, lasting soft tan head.
Enticing aroma of dark roasted malts, caramel sweetness, citrus, and pine. It is the best of both worlds on the nose.
The body is around medium but it tends to be a little acidic.
The taste has some nice dark roasted and toasted malt characters and a touch of chocolate to start but the flavor profile quickly evolves into a pine and citrus bitter finish. It lingers at the end for a moment.

Bottle from Bert's
Mostly clear dark brown with garnet at the edges and a frothy tan head that sticks around forever. Roasty earthy pine and faint citrus on the nose. Roasty caramel and light chocolate flavor with earthy resinous pine and light citrus. Pretty nose hoppy black ale.
