This review is of the 2020 edition. Aged 4 years - poured into snifter April 2024
The color is a reddish brown with a tiny head and lace.
The aroma is of malts, raisins, figs
The taste is only slightly sweet with some minor sourness. You also get dark fruit and caramel.
The taste follows the nose giving you fig, caramel, malts and obvious notes of raisin.
The feel has low carbonation, medium to full body with a smooth finish.
Lot of malt in this one.
The balance is ok but I may have over aged this and should have had it in two years.
Enjoyable and showcased the hallmarks of a good barley wine.
